Stan Daniels

The Stan Daniels Metis Manor has been in North Glenora as a senior complex. With the completion of the Renaissance Tower in the Quarters east of downtown, many of the Stan Daniels Metis Manor residents moved in, leaving the Metis Manor ready for redevelopment. The Metis Capital Housing Corporation (MCHC) is proposing to use this building as the new facility for its Family Reunification Program.

MCHC held its first information session with the North Glenora Community League on March 19, 2014. A second was held on October 15, 2014. After the first meeting, the community league solicited questions from residents which were then forwarded to the MCHC for response. A small working group of North Glenora residents have met with representatives of MCHC on a number of occasions since the first meeting to facilitate communication between the North Glenora community and MCHC.  Please give any feedback you have on the proposed project to

The following is a list of documents and events relating to the Stan Daniels Metis Manor redevelopment.

March 3, 2016 Jena Properties has bought the property.
April 27, 2015 In December of 2014 the Holmes Group announced that they were no longer involved in the project, at the request of MCHC. The MCHC confirmed to NGCL that, pending the announcement of a new MCHC CEO (at this point still pending), that the development would be on hold. MCHC has committed to monitoring and maintaining the Stan Daniels building while the project is on hold.

NGCL has communicated to MCHC that it is our expectation that the Community Engagement process that had been set in place in 2014 would continue once the new CEO was in place.

April 7, 2015 The project is on hold until further notice, but the Development permit is still underway.
