Outdoor Event at NGCL Skating Rink Community Skate 2:00 to 6:00 pm
Chili Cook-off 4:00 to 5:30pm
All events held outside at the rink and rink shack.
Skating is free for members and $2 for non-members. There are some skates available to borrow at no charge.
Skaters and other patrons: Chili is $5 per bowl or $15 per family (one serving each) and includes buns, drinks and dessert. Additional bowls can be purchased for $3. There will be an option to purchase a “sample tray”, also $5 per person. All food will be served outside.
Contest entries: Please contact Michelle at [email protected] or text 780-222- 4431 with the line “chili cook-off”. The entry fee is $10 per contestant. Entries will be accepted until 9pm Wednesday, February 12. For our purposes chili is defined as “a spicy stew containing chili peppers, tomatoes, meat and/or vegetables and often beans. Variations, both geographic and personal, may involve different types or omission of meat, as well as a variety of other ingredients.” Entries will be judged based on this definition as well as for flavor, texture, consistency, heat, and originality.
All funds raised go to support the rink, rink shack and programs that run there.
Please note this is strictly an OUTDOOR EVENT unless temperatures drop below -23 with windchill. Conditions in the parking lot and around the rink shack are icy.
