Rain Garden Update

Come discover a hidden gem right in our neighborhood!

Tucked beside the rink shack, our rain garden captures runoff right from the roof and is filled with plants native to our region. It’s beautiful and it’s often buzzing with bees!

This spring and summer, come out to enjoy the garden. See if you can spot different plants blooming at different times in the season. On most Sunday afternoons from 4 to 5:30 pm from May to the end of September, you will likely spot some of our volunteers out at the garden. Come chat with us and learn about native plants you can grow in your own garden. If you’d like to roll up your sleeves and get your hands in the dirt, join us for a bit of watering and weeding and enjoy some snacks and great conversations in between! At the end of the growing season, we will collect and share the seeds of some plants from the garden so you can start your own native section at home!

Whether you’re an experienced gardener who is curious about native plants, someone brand new to gardening, or a student looking to add some volunteer hours, we’d love to see you there. Who knows, you might just find your new favourite plant!
