Volunteers needed to join our 2025 Board of Directors! Our new board will be elected at our AGM on March 7, 2025. Find more information about positions available and responsibilities below. 

North Glenora Community League volunteers are the heart of our neighbourhood programming and events. Come join our incredible team! Whether you only have time to help out for an hour, or can support us year round, we have a volunteer opportunity to match your schedule and skill set. 

Currently, we are looking to fill the following volunteer positions: (click on the volunteer job name to view its description)

Event / Odd-job roles

Very short term, often just one day

AGM set up, clean up

6:00 pm – 11:00 pm, March 7 2025

Volunteers needed to help set up chairs and tables for our Annual General Meeting and Meet Your Neighbours social event following, and clean the hall at the end of the evening (stack chairs, sweep, mop as needed).

Garden volunteers   

Flexible time commitment, starting right away

The Sustainability committee is looking for some folks to help with a variety of projects including the Community garden, rain garden, and more!

Membership Drive volunteers

Time commitment: Approximately 2 hours over the month of September

We are looking for friendly folks to help with our yearly membership drive starting in September. Volunteers door-knock around North Glenora, offering residents an opportunity to sign up for a FREE community league membership. This is a fantastic way to meet your neighbours!

Hall Rentals team

Flexible time commitment, team works year-round

We are looking for a few volunteers to join our Hall Rentals team. New team members will provide short tours (approx 20m) to prospective renters. Tour times can be arranged to suit your schedule.

Fundraising committee

Flexible time commitment, team works year-round.

The fundraising committee will develop campaigns and/or events to support North Glenora Community League’s fundraising goals. Committee members will gain experience in networking, developing partnerships and will have the ability to make their creative ideas come to life!

Time Capsule committee

Time commitment: 2hrs + on the day of, 4hrs + from Sept-Dec

This committee will be responsible for planning the re-opening of the North Glenora time capsule that was buried in our community 25 years ago. If you love history and/or event planning, this is the opportunity for you!

Seniors Programming Coordinator

Time commitment varies depending on program offerings, starting a.s.a.p.

Do you have a passion for engaging the community and developing recreational, educational, social or leisure opportunities for older adults? We are looking for a Seniors Programming Coordinator who will develop and/or bring in existing programs to serve seniors living in and around North Glenora.

Sports Coordinator

Time commitment varies depending on season, starting a.s.a.p.

We are looking for someone who will champion sports programming in our community this year. The Sports coordinator ‘gets the ball rolling’ on league play like soccer and hockey and chairs a committee of volunteers who coach and organize sports events.

Historian

Flexible time commitment

Document NGCL activities for historical purposes. Advise the Executive Board on matters of a historical nature related to the current operation of the NGCL.

Vacant Board Member positions

To be elected at our AGM on March 10, 2026, terms for all positions are 1 year


President

Our new president will be supported by an involved past president and knowledgeable returning board members. The president of the league chairs our board meetings and provides leadership to the board and league by taking a community-wide perspective on issues.

Vice-President

Our vice-president assists the president in overseeing the operations and administrative functions of the NGCL. Vice-presidents often move on to the president role, but this is not a requirement or expectation.

Treasurer

The Treasurer manages and administers the finances of the NGCL including preparing an annual budget to the Board for member approval and developing and reviewing financial policies and procedures. Our Treasurer is supported by our Office Manager, who handles our payables & receivables.

Sustainability Director

Be a green champion for the league and community! Chair the sustainability committee and support its work towards the goal of increasing the resiliency and sustainability of the community as a whole.

Member Engagement Director

Our Member Engagement Director provides residents of North Glenora the opportunity to purchase league memberships through the annual Membership Campaign and on an ongoing basis.

Our Activities & Programs Director oversees league activities and programs by recruiting volunteers, supporting event committees with planning and budget, and looking for exciting new programs and events we could bring to North Glenora.
