On October 19th the WPC application for rezoning was heard by City Council and approved. Scott McKeen and Mayor Don Iveson relayed the fact that they were impressed with North Glenora’s design and execution of the community engagement process, and believed that the development would be a positive one for the community and the city. 2 residents of North Glenora spoke in support of the development. None opposed.
Intermet, the developer, expects that deconstruction to preserve iconic elements of the existing church will begin March or April, once financing has been secured and the development permit has been approved. The build period will be approximately 12 months.
