IMPORTANT-Neighbourhood Safety Update

At the most recent NGCL Board Meeting on September 13, 2022 serious concerns were brought forward by multiple residents over problem areas in our neighbourhood. Incidents of violence, criminal activity, suspicious activity, drug misuse, vagrancy, and fears of safety in our community are affecting residents and have the potential to escalate.

These are very serious concerns and affect all residents of our community regardless of where we live in the neighbourhood.

It is absolutely critical that all residents report all incidents no matter how small they think they may be. Please use this resource list to report incidents. We thank everyone for taking this matter seriously.

Together we can help make North Glenora a safer place to live for everyone. [email protected]

If the concerns are mainly that the residents of a property are loud, rowdy, causing a disturbance or you believe criminal activity may be taking place at the property, then your best course of action would be to contact either EPS to deal with the issues as they are actively happening, or reporting the property to the Alberta Safer Communities and Neighborhoods Team (SCAN) for investigation as they have mechanisms to deal with rental properties if they believe drug activity to be happening inside.

The SCAN Team online reporting tool can be accessed here:

Edmonton Bylaw Enforcement deals with problem properties, but only the land and buildings located on the land, not the people occupying the land. If you have concerns regarding the condition of a property (e.g. long grass and weeds, garbage scattered throughout, broken windows/doors etc…) they can look into these matters for you.
