North Glenora Safety and Security update

After a brief reprieve from the cold and snow, winter is back in full force. This will mean slippery roads and snow covered sidewalks. To ensure our community stays safe, please remember to have your walks cleared and sanded/salted as quickly as possible. This will ensure 2-legged and 4-legged North Glenora residents will be able to get to and from their destination safely. It will also mean less ice build up when the temperatures improve and less giant puddles on our freshly replaced sidewalks.

I’ve also received notification from community members regarding unsafe driving within North Glenora. Probably the most concerning was a vehicle speeding around Coronation School, during school zone hours and sliding all over the roads due to icy conditions. the driver was a youth and they were approached by community member and asked to slow down. I’ve received several call regarding vehicles speeding in back alleys, and drivers going too fast for road conditions leading to skids and spinning out. Please keep the road conditions in mind when travelling through North Glenora and adjust your speed accordingly. This is true not only during a large snowfall but also as the roads start to melt or after freezing rain. Please help to keep pour neighbourhood safe by being a courteous driver.
